Re Letter Sent to Abbey Residents on 31st July 2024

Dear Tamzin and Georgie

We are writing as a Residents Group in relation to the latest letters you sent to residents of the Abbey Estate and have a number of questions to ask on behalf of concerned residents?

1. Who are you both? We don’t know either of your surnames or job titles. In what capacity do you write?

2. Why are you using the Samphire logo instead of Flagship? This is most unhelpful, and several residents have expressed confusion?

3. Regarding the newsletter, are you going to use it to address key issues including the managed decline of the estate? What issues other than the forthcoming Planning Application do you intend to talk about?

4. Residents in the First Phase of development have received a different letter from those elsewhere and have been offered yet more of the one-to-one meetings that so characterised the initial consultation. We would respectfully suggest you hold “town hall” style meetings and will be advising residents to avoid the one-to-one meetings that previously led to confusion, mixed messages and false promises.

5. We are heartened by your decision to appoint an ITLA Officer for resident consultation. How will residents be involved in the process? Will the Officer have a regular presence or office on the estate?

6. How can we contact you? Neither the phone number nor email advertised take us through to a specific department.

7. We now have a new MP for South West Norfolk who has taken on the promise of the previous MP to hold a meeting between Flagship and landlords. Given the number of tenants likely to made homeless under your scheme, can we urge you to convene this meeting at your earliest convenience?

We would be obliged if you could answer this letter in a timely fashion as residents are eager to have some of the questions answered.

Yours sincerely

Fiona Kiana (Mrs)
