AAG Respond to Flagship’s Phase One Letter

Under the guise of Samphire Homes, Flagship Housing Association have written to residents in “Phase One” of their proposed development inviting them to engage in “one-to-one” meetings.

Hilariously, the letter claims Flagship are waiting for a decision to be made on their Outline Planning application, when the truth is it is way behind schedule due to so many well-written Objection Letters; including one from Thetford Town Council.

Far from “waiting”, Flagship are actually furiously attempting to cobble together something that might have a chance of succeeding at a Breckland District Council Planning Committee.

The Abbey Action Group would advise residents against engaging in such meetings, not least as this is a historical tactic used to disunite residents and make promises the multi-billion corporation know they will never keep.

Instead, we would invite Flagship to engage in “Town Hall” style meetings with both residents and landlords and attended by local representatives, so the true feelings of a community can be voiced.
