Thetford Mayor Takes Resident Petition to Breckland

Chloe Taylor and Mayor Chris Harvey at the Abbey Action Group meeting

At a meeting including two prospective Members of Parliament, Chloe Taylor handed a petition including well over a thousand signatures to Thetford Mayor Chris Harvey. The petition was then in turn, given to Breckland District Council for inclusion on their website.

The meeting was held at the Abbey Centre, was attended by around 60 people and was attended by both Terry Jermy and James Bagge, both of whom are attempting to unseat current MP and former Prime Minister Liz Truss. Once again it is apparent, the plight of the estate is focusing minds across the political spectrum.

During the meeting Chair Terry Land spoke at some length about the fine work being done by the AAG before the Mayor gave his support to the group.

There followed a detailed and impressive lesson by Cathy Spillane on how to compose a letter of objection to Flagship proposals. More details HERE.

A question and answer session involved some lively debate including some very informed and informative points made by residents across the board.
